"Video Games and TV Teach To Kill" Homework

After reading the news article "Video Games and TV Teach To Kill", I have some agreements to the article, but however, I am mostly disagree with David Grossman. First of all, I do agree that some video games are starting to influence young players' mind with violent bloody scenes. The media companies should be accountable for the messages they are spreading to children. But, in most of the case, children are smart enough to realize that they shouldn't imitate violent actions from the game even though it is entertaining. His words "We're not just teaching kids to kill. We're teaching them to like it." force my mind to turn against him. Yes, sure that children play killing in the games can make them feel less-stress. But I'm pretty sure the children aware of killing people in real life because it is so different from the game. They wouldn't have to go to jail if they were to kill people in video games. However, in real life, they would get in so much trouble and some could lead them to death. In conclusion, he is just basing on the incidents that LITTLE amount of children make but then, forgetting how the children are starting to have a better understanding on what they should do and what they shouldn't.

L.A Homework

I think twelve and thirteen year olds shouldn't be able to play any games they want. Because there are tons of games out there that aren't suitable for children their ages. Like games that are 18+, there might be several images that is going to affect their brain afterwards. Gamers are mostly young men, they usually play violent games and shooting games. And I believed that some games are okay to play like killing monsters and solving quests. But wrestling and shooting, well, it is okay to play it for a while without becoming to addicted to it. Because sometimes children see, children do. They will believe that they are the character and get distracted from real life. But, there's a time that the guide from the games saved a little boy from getting attack by a moose. Overall, there are games that is okay for them to play but they shouldn't be playing un-suitable games that will damage their brain in the future.
